Saw Kim Richey and The Small Ponds at Pinhook tonight in Durham. When I found out that Caitlin Cary was one half of TSP, I just about lost my shit— I’ve long admired both Kim and Caitlin and to have both perform in the same night at the same venue was cause for major fist-pumping action. Just an amazing night of music, with some of the best songwriters and voices in the business. After the show, I noticed Kim lustily gazing at my sweatshirt. Ok not really, but in a brief exchange, I did say, “Do you want my sweatshirt?” and she said “Yeah!” So I gave it to her. Some musicians get panties thrown on stage, and others get sweatshirts. Boom.

Been watching The Simpsons’ Complete Second Season box set, and man, it brought me back. Haven’t been watching the current season, but I’ve always been fond of the raw, crude, animation of Klasky Csupo from the first three seasons (and the Tracey Ullman Show). Classic.
