Bullshit from friends.
Earlier this week, I had arranged for a friend to pick me up from the train station. She called me while I was on the train to tell me that she forgot she was supposed to pick me up, then asked if I could find another ride because she had to be at a birthday party on the coast by 5:30 (when my train was scheduled to arrive). I hung up on her.
Today, my car broke down on the way to the bank. The radiator is shot to hell. All my boys were at work. I called another friend, who I knew to be off today. She was at her church, getting ready to clean out a storage trailer with another person. After explaining that I was stranded, she offered to pick me up two hours later. I told her forget it. She texted me later in the afternoon to apologize and tell me that she had planned to clean that trailer out with this person for a while now and would have felt bad leaving her by herself to clean it out.
Now that is some fucking bullshit. So you’re at a church to clean out an inanimate object with another Christian, and a human being calls you with an immediate need (who also just happens to be your friend), and you choose not to help the friend? If that’s not hypocritical on multiple levels, I don’t know what is. How fucking hard is it to say to that other volunteer: “Hey, I’m really sorry, but my friend’s car just broke down. I need to go pick him up and drop him off at his house and I’ll be back ASAP, I promise!” Most rational people would probably understand.
Bitches, man. They can eat shit.
